Lickilicky

Summary:
Most Used Set:
Lickilicky can often be seen imitating its OU brethren, Snorlax as a Bulky Stat Booster with Curse in the NU Metagame. He can also, usually be seen playing roles as a decent Mixed Attacker or Swords Dance user.

Usual Counters:

Lickilicky just hates running into Fighting and Ghost-Types who can do some serious damage to Lickilicky. Fighting-Types such as Gallade, Hariyama, and many others can do some serious damage with they're STAB Fighting move, though they should watch out for Explosion on the switch in. Ghost-Types can also cause problems for Lickilicky since they are immune to to its STAB Explosion and inflict status like Will-O-Wisp, Toxic, and ware him down with some attacking moves. These generally include Pokemon like Banette, Drifblim, Mismagius, and many others.

Types Of Teams This Pokémon Is Used In:
You can mostly see Lickilicky in the NU Metagame, and occasionally in the UU metagame. Lickilicky can offer great support as a Physical Sweeper, Mixed Sweeper, and even a great Choiced User, preferable Choice Band.

Swords Dance @ Leftovers / Life Orb
EVs: 88 HP / 252 ATK / 168 Spe
Nature: Admant
Ability: Own Tempo
-Swords Dance
-Return
-Aqua Tail / Earthquake
-Explosion

Swords Dance boosts Lickilicky's attack tremendously, raising it to a frightening 590 Atk, which will be a force to be reckoned with. He will be able to dish out some serious damage to any Pokemon that isn't Ghost, Rock, or Steel though Rock and Steel-Types should watch out for Aqua Tail and Earthquake. Teams should also be careful to watch out for the "awesome" power of STAB Explosion after an SD, except for Ghost-Types who will won't even flinch at the impact of it. Aqua Tail can provide some decent coverage to Rock-Types who resist its STAB Return, more notable, Regirock and Rhyperior. Earthquake can take care of Registeel, Bastiodon, and Probopass.

Mixed Attacker @ Life Orb
EVs: 116 HP / 252 Atk / 140 SpA
Nature: Brave
Ability: Own Tempo
-Fire Blast
-Ice Beam
-Earthquake / Power Whip / Aqua Tail
-Return / Explosion

Lickilicky can be an amazing Wall Breaker, carrying very cool balanced offensive stats as well as having a vast movepool containing a decent amount of physical and special attacks for it to abuse. Mixed Lickilicky can lure defensive walls who are weak to Special Attacks, since its mostly seen as an Physical attacker, but they will be in for a in for a nasty surprise. Fire Blast takes cares of Steel-Types who walls its only STABed typed moves. Fire Blast can take care of Steel-Types such as Registeel. Fire Blast care also take care of Grass-Types and Ice-Types most notable Cacturne, Articuno and Co.

Ice Beam can hits Flying-Types, while EQ can take care of Rock, Steel, and Electric-Types. Power Whip or Aqua Tail can be used over Earthquake though it will provide less coverage for Lickilicky. Then there’s Lickilicky’s STAB move. Explosion can dish out some serious damage to anything that doesn’t resist or, or anything that is a Ghost-Type. Explosion can score some cool OHKOs, and with Life Orb to boost its power. Return may be used over Explosion if you don’t want to sucide Lickilicky though Explosion is preferred.

Curse of the Lick @ Leftovers
EVs: 252 HP / 68 Atk / 24 Def / 164 SpD
Nature: Sassy
Ability: Own Tempo
-Curse
-Return / Body Slam
-Aqua Tail / Gyro Ball
-Rest / Explosion

This set is basically intimidating it's OU brethren, Snorlax. Just like its OU brethren Snorlax, Lickilicky can cause serious damage to teams if it gets it way with Curse. After one Curse, Return can dish out serious damage to an unprepared team, Body Slam may be used over Return for a nifty 30% chance to paralyze the opponent. Aqua Tail can take care of Defensive Walls that often was to end Lickilicky's sweeping such as Bastiodon, and other Rock, or Steel -Types. Gyro Ball can take advantage of the speed lower that Curse cause when used, and can hit foes pretty hard if unprepared. Then there's Rest or Explosion. Rest will allow Lickilicky to keep coming back for more, and will make Lickilicky harder to take down. Unlike its OU brethren Snorlax, Lickilicky ahs one slight advantages over him; Explosion. Explosion can score some cool OHKOs after just one Curse, killing anything in the Metagame that isn't named Bastiodon.

Supporting Lick @ Leftovers
EVs: 252 HP / 184 Atk / 72 Def
Nature: Impish
Ability: Own Tempo
-Knock Off
-Body Slam
-Explosion
-Fire Punch / Earthquake / Toxic

This set is pretty cool and easy to play. Knock off is to "knock off" your opponent's held item, which can slow down your opponent from sweeping or waring down yours. Then you can Body Slam them until they suffer from paralyze though Lickilicky should watch out for Ghost-Types. Explosion can be used when Lickilicky is in an tight spot, leaving huge dents in the opponent's HP. Fire Punch and Earthquake can be used for extra coverage against Steels, Rocks, and Grass-Types. The only problem with this set is that Ghost-Types can play around with Lickilicky. Luckily, Lickilicky has Toxic which can ware down those pesky Ghosts.

Banded Tongue @ Choice Band
Evs: 252 HP / 252 Atk / 4 Def
Nature: Adamant
Ability: Own Tempo
-Return
-Earthquake
-Aqua Tail / Fire Punch
-Explosion

With a decent attack, and durability like Lickilicky's, it can make an exceptional Choice Band user. Return is your main attack to dish out damage, pummeling threats. Earthquake will provide great coverage, destroying Steel and Rock-Types who wanna wall Lickilicky's STAB moves. Aqua Tail or Fire Punch can also provide secondary coverage, hitting Ice, Fire, and doing great damage to Ghost-Types. Explosion is Lickilicky's last resort and most dangerous move on this set, leaving huge dents in anything that resists it or is immune and OHKOing most of the things that aren't.

Other Options:
Lickilicky has a vast movepool, for many other options, such as, Zen Headbutt to hit fighting and poison-types, while Hammer Arm can hurt Dark types. Then there's Thunderpunch, which can take care of bulky waters and Ice Punch for Dragons. Shadow Ball can be used for the huge weakness Lickilicky has to Ghost-Types.

Opinion:
Lickilicky's only disadvantage(like it OU brethren Snorlax) is it Base Speed, though it has a vast and amazing movepool and above average stats to fill that hole. Thus will allow Lickilicky to play lots of different roles in the NU metagame. The only thing that stands in its way is Snorlax. Snorlax outclasses Lickilicky in bulk and power, and can be played effectively among the OU metagame. And unlike Snorlax, Lickilicky lacks a way to take down Ghost-Types, Snorlax luckily got Crunch and Pursuit. Though Snorlax is greater than Lickilicky, it lacks something that Snorlax doesn't have; Explosion. Explosion beats Snorlax's Selfdestruct and can dish out more damage to foes.

add sleep talk as another option on the curse set just for thoroughness

add sleep talk as another option on the curse set just for thoroughness

That's not a good choice. The point of Rest on the set is that after enough Curses, Lickilicky will be able to survive the three turns it is asleep without needing to attack back to scare off opponents. If you replace an attack move with Sleep Talk, you lose your ability to sweep.

could you explain why the SD set needs exactly 168 spe evs?
