With it's huge Attack stat, as well as high Speed, reasonable bulk, and access to Swords Dance, Rock Polish and even Work Up, Terrakion is certainly no slouch. This thread has been made so that you can discuss in full, the effect that this brutal Pokemon has made on the metagame.

This thing is amazing. The dual stat boosting set wrecks things up, with rock polish decimating total offense while swords dance wrecks stall.

Would be nice if you can explain what can counter Terrakion. This thing is tough to take down, it's OU, correct?

Well Gliscor is a great counter to Terakion, just don't use Knock Off to take off its Balloon. I made a mistake like that one and it's ability (Justice Heart) activated.

Reuniclus is good, just Focus Blast isn't that reliable. And SD + EQ does do a lot of damage.

Very few Pokemon are truly able to counter this thing. But good predictions and strategy can overcome it. With great bulky revenge killers like Latios, Borutorusu, etc.

Ironically enough, Golurk (Ghost/Ground) is a great counter to Terrakion, but no one seems to use Golurk...

As Eternal said, revenge killers can take out Terrakion. Its also really too bad for Terrakion that Scizor, Conkeldurr, and Breloom can easily revenge (or heavily damage) Terrakion with their priority moves.

Terrakion 2HKOs standard SD Gliscor with +2 Stone Edge, so if it's holding an Air Balloon, Gliscor could be in trouble if it has to switch in. And don't forget about the Work Up set it can run that uses HP Ice (which at +1 with Life Orb is a OHKO).

Psychic is super-effective too, so why would you use Focus Blast against it? I guess you could be predicting a switch to Tyranitar or something...

why would you Earthquake when you have stone edge as well
