Ok, so I just started working with Pokesav today/yesterday (June 23, 2012) and set up Box 18 the way I want. I exported Box 18 in three parts (Slots 1 - 10; Slots 11-20; Slots 21-30) to Action Replay codes because a full Box 18 import of Action Replay codes was being rejected by No$GBA. But for some reason, Box 18 slots 21-30 crashes No$GBA and I'm convinced it has something to do with slots 21-30 or at the very least one of the pokemon in those slots. I added each part individually and part 3 is the only one that crashes the No$GBA.

Now, I'm not sure what the red, green, or blue font on the names are for, or if it's anything to be cautious of. I would also like to know what it means to have these different colors on the names of the pokemon (in Pokesav).

Did I overlook something here?
Maybe added a 5th Gen by accident or 5th Gen information?
Would you like slots 21-30 (I saved the box as *.bin so they all show up as Box18_xx.bin) to check what exactly I might have done wrong?
Zipped BIN files of Box 18 slots 21-30: http://dl.shinra.us/Box18s2130.zip
Box18 slots 21-30 Action Replay exported codes: http://dl.shinra.us/Box18_30.xml

By the way, all of this was built up from scratch. I have not figured out how to extract a SAV file from the Pokemon Pearl ROM and all searches return nothing or information that doesn't work with ROM versions (or doesn't explain it enough). Although I do have a legal copy of Diamond, Pearl, and Platinum as well as a Nintendo DS Lite, I do not physically have them with me and might not for at least 6 months. ROM versions are the only Nintendo DS games I have access to. In the early stages, I only exported the Action Replay codes for the Trainer ID, name, rival name, gender and items (items and master balls) and it worked fine when I added the Action Replay codes to No$GBA.
I'd like some help in finding what is wrong with Box 18 slots 21 - 30. Thanks for any help.

Hi, i do not remember perfectly how making the events, but certainly (thanks to pokesav) i unlocked all. (It was years ago). Luckily, i saved screenshots from my walkthrough.

http://brontofile.com/download.php?id=4FE93A094

PS: The colors in pokesav are referencing to genre of pokemon's, red is female, blue is male, green is undetermined (like magnemite or mystic-pokemon).

PS2: I edit battery files (.sav) directly. So far as i remember, i not have problems playing in NOcash...... Umm, ... only two details:

(1) Check NO$GBA settings for using uncompressed battery files.
One line in NO$GBA.INI should say "SAV/SNA File Format == Uncompressed"
(2) Convert NOcash-Battery-Save-File to VBA-Battery-Save-File. (I use No$GBAtoVBA.exe, is old but work).
Download from http://brontofile.com/download.php?id=4FE93EC86
(Note, NOcash read correctly VBA-Battery-Save-Files, but, always saving in NOcash-format, indeed the step 2 is necessary repeat constantly).

PS3: Sorry for my tarzan-english, i speak spanish.

PS4: Sorry, I mixed answers to olimin/Vashnik separated questions.

This solution didn't work. Here is what I did:
Changed "SAV/SNA File Format == Compressed" to "SAV/SNA File Format == Uncompressed"
Started new game (all saves before weren't working because of the emulation crash)
Saved new game
Exited emulator to create the SAV file
Converted original from No$GBA to VBA
Made a copy of the converted file
Took information from SAV file
Open my hacked SAV and edited the file in Pokesav with the information I took from the converted file.
Saved changes to hacked SAV using Save As and naming the file "Pokemon Pearl.SAV"
Replaced the unmodified SAV file in the No$GBA battery folder with the hacked one
Opened Pokemon Pearl in No$GBA. Game did not have a saved game to open and immediately made me start a new game.
No$GBA ignored the modified SAV as if it weren't there. When the emulator closed, I replaced the modified SAV file with the original SAV file, No$GBA accepted the file and allowed me to load the original, unmodified SAV in the game.

1.Started new game (all saves before weren't working because of the emulation crash)

This look odd, some ROM's need a light patching before work successful. Please test using my personal copy from
http://brontofile.com/download.php?id=4FEA84405
(Agrees, the copy is in Spanish, but is only for testing purposes).

Also, my personal copy of emulator ready for playing Pkmn NDS & DSi games:
http://brontofile.com/download.php?id=4FEA86445
(Probably you likes change the keyboard configuration)

8.Open my hacked SAV and edited the file in Pokesav with the information I took from the converted file.

If the way is OK, this step is notorious.

Here a wrong look at using pokesav in the supposed converted battery-file:

And here a good look tn the correctly converted battery-file (note the red-circles):

------------
Also, your can upload your battery-save-file to brontofile.com (or any other server), and i can revise personally.
------------
If your testing is successful post-me a request for the correct language rom-file. (I have, but not testing this ones).
------------
Other tips i have "forcefully" remember now.

1. No$GBAtoVBA.exe visual bar is too short, but working ok. (This utility has done think in 128Kb battery files of Gameboy Advance).

2. No$GBAtoVBA.exe create a file named config.ini, this must be erased every time your moves a new directory, or No$GBAtoVBA.exe not more working.

3. No$GBAtoVBA.exe name (newly created) converted files always to "NewSaveGame.SAV". Indeed, the .bak-file and original-file are the same-one (i discard this two).

4. Last version of NO$GBA (2.6a) is preferable. Old versions not support NDS-Cartidge-Media set to "Auto-Detect".

5. If your computer is sufficiently fast, is recommendable set render to opengl. (Particularly some cities in Pokemon Black & White versions look beautiful under this mode, but ugly under the optimized(indeed trimmed) internal nocash render.

I eventually got it working. You can't use a hacked SAV file made from scratch in Pokesav. You have to edit the one from the emulator (after the conversion). I'm guessing there are event flags not yet editable in the most recent version of Pokesav, such as in-game events like Professor Rowan's assistant showing you how to catch a pokemon or choosing your first pokemon.

Yes, it's true.

By the way, i revised your box-18 pokemon-list and i must mention that: Uxie, Mesprit, Azelf, Regigigas, Palkia (Dialga in Diamond), Giratina, Cresselia, Darkrai and Heatran are obtainable through [mini-]events in Pokemon Pearl, and isn't necessary (even it is unlike) obtain them via pokesav-editing option. (Specially Regigigas, Giratina, Darkrai and Heatran that take new places that to know in the region). Also Arceus, Manaphy (-> Phione), Rotom and Shaymin (this is my favorite) have [mini-]stories in Sinnoh.

If you want to export AR codes, then make sure not to export too many Pokemon, or the game will crash. I would recommend limiting each cheat to six Pokemon.

As Empatojayos mentioned, the colors represent the genders of each Pokemon. Red is female, blue is male, and green is genderless.

I'm not sure what you mean by adding 5th gen information. If you're editing Pearl, then you should be using the Pokesav for Diamond and Pearl.

It is also important to note that save files are not extracted from ROMs. They are seperate files and when on retail cartridges, the data is stored on seperate chips.
