Okay, I felt I was obsessive enough to make a thread dedicated to it.
Progressive rock... I'm sort of a sucker for it. I love the extended solos and odd time and key signature changes throughout songs. It originates from Jazz, Classical and Psychedelic Rock and is a nice combination of the three. It kinda started with the Beatles Sgt. Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band, though they aren't a prog rock group. I doubt many other people know about it, but what do you guys think about it?
Bands include Pink Floyd (Albums, not singles), Yes, Genesis (Older work), and King Crimson.
