As do many people I like my anime but one question I don't see raised much is how long do you like your anime to last do you like it as short as death note or as long as one piece? Because I don't have a personal preference as long as it not crazy

I like anime for as long as it can be. As long as it's good an appeals to me I won't care how long it is.

I like... when it is never-ending! When I see something I really like, I just never want it to end.

I like it like One Piece. New adventures, new people, all exciting. When it is never ending, it is always going to be interesting.

I don't care how long an anime is, I've seen things from Bleach, Katekyo Hitman Reborn, and D. Gray Man to Ano Hana, Angel Beats, and Hetalia (although it has many episodes each one is five minutes).

I like long anime, if it has many arcs you will always have a new cast member or villain to watch for

Y'all need to watch less mainstream anime. Check out this years anime and choose some.

I like my anime yaoi-
Never mind...

I guess I would be more inclined towards liking longer anime, but it really depends what they do with that time.

Angel Beats
Clearly 13 episodes wasn't enough to cover this anime.

I think around 24 episodes is the ideal amount for any series. It's long enough to get attached to the characters and the anime doesn't drag, and it usually has a satisfying ending.

I really wish that they had covered everyone's backstory not just select ones. I really want to know TK's backstory especially.

Everyone goes back to TK for some reason. Me personally it's about Shiina. <3 Shiina.

Quite easily though with the amount of main cast involved that a short series wasn't going to cut it. The speculation, it hurts!

For me Shiina was just there, she didn't mean much to me to be honest xD

I REALLY wish Angel Beats was about twice as long as it actually was.. but oh well. I'll read the VN to death on release, I guess. = P

Anyway, I actually like around 24 episodes for an anime. I like them to be long, but when it just continues to drag on, I just start to lose my motivation to watch it. 24 episodes is long enough to develop character plot, story, and still have a few filler/funny episodes tossed in as well. If it's really good, then sequel animes are perfectly fine - Amagami SS and Clannad went this route, and that worked perfectly. Heck, I liked Amagami SS+ More than Amagami SS, even though it was shorter, just because Amagami SS took so much time to develop character and stuff. xD

I haven't watched very many anime, but the quality over quantity saying really goes well here. I've seen a few really long anime, about 3 short ones, and 1 mildly long one.
I think the mildly long one was a great length and is more than enough to be entertaining, but I also liked the short anime.
Anything ranging from 12-52 episodes is good for me.

I think I like anime to be in the category right after the usual 20 something episodes...but certainly note infinite like Bleach and OP seem to be doing. When I watch something I like to know there is a conclusion waiting for me at the end of the journey.

Actually if I'm not mistaken Bleach's anime has ended and the manga's in its final arc.

Actually if I'm not mistaken Bleach's anime has ended and the manga's in its final arc.

The anime was brought off the air so they wouldn't have to show filler while the last arc was in progress. It will be back eventually.

I like my anime 12-30 episodes. I can deal with longer but then I'd have to make sure I'm keeping my lists in check so I know exactly where I left off instead of rewatching something.

Oh wow. I had no idea about Bleach reaching it's final arc in the manga. When the anime concludes, I may have to pick up on it where I left off and finish it.

24 through 50 episodes is tolerable, although it's easier to convince me to watch a shorter series than a longer one. Digimon is an exception to this rule because I'm able to marathon through anime if I'm really, really into it.

Anything under a 100 episodes is a deal for me. As long as it ends.

I despise never ending anime. It feels like the characters end up getting absolutely nowhere and the plots end up getting stupider and I just get sick of it.

Short...Long... doesn't matter to me. As long as the Anime is awesome, I'll go for it either way.

I didn't say this before, but I think the size of an anime should depend on how long it takes to fully flesh out a good story instead of cutting it short. I've seen that so many times with various animes.

I understand what you're saying, Will.
Anime that just...end or leave you with a bunch of questions because there wasn't enough time are really depressing to me. Hence why my range is 12-52 episodes.
If anime were just as long as it takes to finish the story, that would be nice. Too bad anime-makers are usually limited to a specific number of episodes.

I don't care how long or short of anime show appears. As long as the anime show storyline is okay through and also it depends if I like the show.

I think anime's are good at about 24-96 episodes but I still do watch my new Shippuden episodes!

IMO 24-26 is perfect. It's long enough to build the setting and characters, and the perfect length to tell as story while keeping it interesting the whole way through.
Really long anime can be enjoyable, but they're never as satisfying as the really good 24 episode anime.

Dragon ball Z for example had about 200 episodes and there were 4 sagas and occasional movies but the 4th saga was an add on because the creator wanted it to end it right there but the producers made the majin buu saga was the extra saga

Me about a half hour to an hour.:)

I think the context of the thread is length of episodes, not length of individual episodes.
I hope this clear things up.

I tend to like anime as long as can be. I figure if I like it I'll watch it through until the end, but if I don't I'll give up watching it.

I like my anime to be 12-24 episodes long. Short and sweet. Most of the anime I watched were that long anyway.

If it is a good anime like the Pokemon anime from generations 1-3 I would like to see it keep going. But if it is not good such as Pokemon anime 4 and 5 I want it gone. I miss the old days of Pokemon.

For an anime that's like average for me, around 12-24 episodes will suffice, but if it's a really good anime, about 72 episodes or more.
