If you guys are unsure about some of your computer specs do look for and download a program called CPU-Z and then run it. It will give you all the information you need.

It's impossible to not have a graphics card in your computer, you know.

I'm not fully sure, but I think graphics can be onboard. It would be very unusual tough.

Patriot
06-15-2012, 10:36 PM
Well yeah, graphics cards can be onboard like my old one which came with my motherboard, but that doesn't describe the complete lack of a graphics card which he supposedly claims.

It's impossible to not have a graphics card in your computer, you know.

You can have integrated graphics. Also if you have a good enough processor and enough RAM you can run graphics directly out of the processor.

That only gives you information on the hardware in your computer. System Information Wizard gives you anything you could possibly need to know about your computer.

It's impossible to not have a graphics card in your computer, you know.
Incorrect. Many low performance computers only have a simple processor built into the North Chipset of the motherboard which works with the Central Processor to process the graphical data and other processes that the CPU does not need to handle itself. In rare occasions the CPU handles the graphics processing completely by itself as long as the motherboard has the outputs the monitor needs.

(Oh and BTW, I replaced my pitiful 17 inch monitor with a Phillips 40 inch LCD (1080p, 120Hz). I'll edit my specs once I actually find what the actual model name is.

I'd be lost with a 40" monitor. I'm fine with my 27" LED Samsung SyncMaster TA550.

Okay, okay.

HP Pavillion dm4
Windows 7 Home Premium (64-bit)
Intel Core i5 - 2450M, 2.5GHz (but I should probably underclock it a bit, it tends to get really hot sometimes.)

I use a 13" MacBook Pro. I got it as a birthday gift almost two years ago. :p

Model: A1278
Operating System: OS X Mountain Lion
CPU: 2.3 GHz Intel Core i5
RAM: 4 GB 1333 MHz DDR3
Graphics Card: Intel HD Graphics 3000 384 MB
Display Resolution: 1200x800 (16:10)
Hard Drive: 320 GB 5400-RPM Serial ATA Hard Drive
Power Supply: MagSafe Power Adapter
Battery Life: 7 hours

I'd like to switch to Windows 7 as soon as possible because I'll eventually have to get an all out better computer. Besides, a lot of programs, softwares and games are compatible with Windows. I'll still use this laptop and not abandon it until then.

Oh yeah, this thread. My old computer officially became an expensive pile of plastic a little while ago now.

Toshiba Satellite S55-A
Intel Core i7 2.4GHz CPU (regularly pulls about 3.2 GHz, not sure how good for the machine that is) <-- that alone was worth the price
8GB DDR3 RAM <-- about 2 GB more than I can use if I try without bricking my computer
Windows 8.1 <-- an embarrassment to the kingdom of operating systems
~700 GM of built-in HDD
~500 GB of external HDD
Video card: a bad one
Audio card: another bad one
