Which region do you think is better?

Out of all the regions that the Pokemon games have been set in, which do you reckon is the best? Johto? Kanto? Sinnoh? Unova? Hoenn? There is a poll with this post by the way.

If we're only talking about the region, I find Hoenn to be the most beautiful.

The scenery is breathtaking, the different areas are incredibly diverse and unique, the cities are creative, and the overall region is very lush and colorful.

Although, most people wouldn't agree with this, as most of the right half of the map is water.

I say that Johto is the best region. Mainly because it just feels so nostalgic. I love how the Johto region is. Kanto and Hoenn are tied for second however.

My favorite was Sinnoh, as there was a lot of snow, and I like the cold. Tied for second would be Johto and Kanto for me.

My favorite is Hoenn, the region is filled with water and usually when im on my way to the beach i play emerald and just surf around. Hoenn has a bunch of legendaries that are catchable and the rival battles are quite tough.

I believe that Hoenn is the most beautiful and most polished region out of them all. I really do think that they put the most work and though into it unlike any other region. Unova is a close second for me.

I'll have to say Sinnoh is my favorite region if we're only talking about location and routes. It seemed to be the most adventure-esque compared to others.
Hoenn is probably the most unique, though, as the cities and towns are very different from each other.
Unova is pretty good, too.

Some people are going to hate me, but I like Unova a lot. I like Hoenn alot, but I felt Unova had more of an interesting amount of scenery. Really Castilla city is why it beats out Hoenn for. It is honestly the first side scrolling experience you get.

The region is best is Kanto region by it so original and nostalgia as a child (even through I didn't play Pokemon Blue and Red even Pokemon FireRed and LeafGreen.) For me Kanto is better region, 2nd is Unova, 3rd is Hoenn, 4th is Johto, and 5th is Sinnoh.

I like all of them but the one that is the best in my opinion is Hoenn. Nintendo needs to remake that region! Most of kids born at 1996-1999 are waiting for those!

Well, the best is the combination of Johto and Kanto from G/S/C/HG/SS. But since this poll is one-region-only, I'm going to have to say Hoenn. On its own is was the most interesting region, mostly because of the huge sea-area with diving and the occasional interesting places.

I like Kanto the most because it was the first region. Also not much happens for snow and I hat snow in pokemon. I like it also it is very plain and not much. Almost like it is peaceful.

Kanto Johto and Hoenn were all really good. The other two were not so great. If I had to pick a favourite, I would have to say Kanto. Hoenn has too much water while Johto is way too short. Kanto is like the perfect balance, not only that, it is a very easy to traverse map for when you don't have fly or a flying type pokemon

I don't know about best region, Johto for its split path, Emerald for its vast seas, Sinnoh for Mount Coronet down the middle. Unova is undoubtedly the worst. Too symmetrical for my liking. Boring

Hoenn > Kanto > Unova > Sinnoh. I can't judge Johto since I can't sit through Gen 2 games.

Hoenn was really cool since it allowed me to make use of surf tons more than other games. I also got to use dive and waterfall to breathe underwater with no support. Kanto was balanced all around with tons of caves and surfing.

I think that the Johto League is best. But also the 1st Generation Pokemon are better then the Johto Pokemon. It's just that the 2nd Generation Games were a lot more fun the any other...

-Has the criminal team with the most epic plot( Team Galactic, create new universe, destroy the old one)
-Snow, it's amazing
-has my second favourite pokemon city of all time so far: Hearthome
-Has Actual TV Station
-Has those people in pokemon centers you can fight

I think Kanto. It's the generation that started it all, with epic Pokemon and the first adventure.
I'd love a 2nd remake of Pokemon Red/Blue, and it would probably be the next Pokemon game(followed by the Hoenn remakes)

I'd have to say I hold Hoenn near and dear to my heart. I loved the different looking cities, how the pokemon looked, the music, and of course, the Battle Frontier! I mean, seriously, who doesn't love the battle frontier?! I also loved the starters, they were unique and weren't repeats of any other past starter *Cough Chimchar and Tepig Cough*

Hoenn has a special place in my heart for being my first region and introducing some of my favorite pokemon of all time.
It also has in my opinion the best overworld in the series with Unova in a close second.

My favourite region is Johto! There is just so much about Johto that makes it better than the other regions (for me anyway);

1. Cyndaquil originates from Johto, and I love Cyndaquil, so loving it's home place is a given.
2. The Ruins of Alph are in Johto! I don't know why, but as a child, these ruins intrigued me to no end, and I'd always end up spending hours there looking for secrets (that were not there) and listening to the creepy Radio of Alph track.
3. The towers in Ecruteak City! These towers and the stories behind them also interested me, and I remember feeling a bit sad that Pokemon had died in them, seeing as death of Pokemon was only lightly spoken about in R/B/Y.
4. The HM-deleter. Many a time I taught my Charizard cut, and all of those times I regretted it deeply, G/S/C allowed us to get rid of HM moves, which meant my Charizard could have a useful 4th move again.

These are only a few of my reasons for loving Johto, but I think if I was to post more, I'd be over doing it a bit. :P

Anyway, I like Johto the best. It doesn't have the most creative geography, I guess, but I always like the way the region looks better than the rest. Although Sinnoh is great too - it's definitely the most diverse - and I like jungles, which Hoenn had a few of.

Kanto all looked the same, and Unova looks too . . . artificial. What the heck is a giant Pokeball doing in the middle?
