Is the Pikachu verification really that necessary in the search bar? I find it a tad bit annoying how I have to first type in what I want to search on top, click search, type in Pikachu, and then click search again. Searching would be a lot faster if that was not the case. Why would bots spam the search anyways?

I agree with this. The Pikachu verification isn't used for posts anymore I don't think and I find it a waste of time when searching for threads.

i agree i find this very annoying to press search type in pikachu and then press search again, so it's flawed to me.

I agree with this too. It should be just type it in and find results. It makes sense when reigstrating, but searching makes no sense. It's preaty easy to know the question and it doesn't change. Edit: Just relized that I wanted to get rid of a pikachu when most of my username is pikachu.

As most people have already given my reason for agreeing with this, I'll just add some extra support. This must come to an end.

YES! I agree with my brother. He is a pikachu, and you insult him.

When you insult family or friends...

You insult me. Please remove it.

Patriot gave reason to this and I support this. Seriously, There is no point having a Pikachu in search if you are searching again. This is kinda getting annoying for me.

Nonsense. Pikachu is an amazing Pokemon and we're keeping it forever.

...Just kidding. I went ahead and disabled the human verification question for searches. Thanks for making this thread, Patriot. +rep.

I enabled that as a precaution to prevent DOS attacks that could shut down our site. Since the searching functionality is an easy way to DOS attack our server, it is a target for hackers. I've found this out the hard way on other sites that I administer, when hackers would abuse the forum search feature to crash the servers.
