Few things.
1. Don't save as a .jpg. That's a mistake a lot of beginners make, as it will completely ruin the image quality, especially with sprites.
2. Try and leave the outlines of the sprite intact (recolor them too), as well as the shading. You shouldn't just color over the whole thing in ____ color, try and maintain the integrity of the original sprite.
Example of good recolors: http://desmond.imageshack.us/Himg43/scaled.php?server=43&filename=shadows.png&res=landing
Good luck!

Okay, thanks Qwerty, and man the recolors you made are *amazing* Here I made a new Dark Mew for my self, And I don't have skills in shading, I tryed. (This Dark Mew isn't like your Dark Pokemon)

Newer Mew I made Pikachu Yellow: (and its shaded :D)

Can you remake the Corphish Red Mew with the new shading techniques that Qwerty showed you?
