Yep, as the Swapnote spotpass part shut down in it's doors. I can tell what Nintendo's direction is going to. Tbh, I never spotpass thing in Swapnote nor I rarely use the app. So......

imo, that was somewhat a stupid move by Nintendo since it's only happens in minority of people (not just kids) that are really immature by sending porn and offensive stuff to other people. However the majority of people will question (or disagree) this and it can be resolved by any options. Dang people are overreacted these days.

Oh well. Sucks for people who use this app frequently to draw stuff in Swapnote and sending by Spotpass feature.

I wondered what happened to this. I can't say I ever found the program especially useful, though :P

It pretty much had no point to begin with and nobody I know used it.

This is stupid because some people might need it to contact their friends and see how they're doing if a 3DS is the only way to do so

That would require ever single online communication service to go down permanently at the same time, in which case the world has far bigger things to worry about than making sure you can keep up with your online mates.

If Nintendo Letter Box is your only way of contacting someone, then I think you have more important things to worry about.

Anyway, this isn't necessarily permanent. They obviously had to rush to close it down to save themselves. There'll probably be some kind of workaround soon enough.

If you have a 3DS and an internet connection, you can use email.

Facebook? Twitter? God damn e-mail? There are so many better choices.

Gojira-Fan: Noooo! Give back Nikki! she was my only friend!

^Love this guy xD.

I think its stupid that there shutting it down. It's the peoples own fault that there getting inappropriate notes, not Swapnote's. They shouldn't be swapping friend codes with people they don't trust.

All that and a toilet~

I also think it was a dumb idea. Keep in mind I am now talking about Nintendo in general and not just swap note. I do realize that Nintendo is geared towards children but they are making it very difficult for people to communicate in Nintendo's online services. They are trying too hard to protect the children who play online and are restricting other people's experiences at the same time. If they have parental controls, why are they trying to parent the kids? On the PS3 and probably 360 as well, there are parental controls to prevent things like this from happening. In fact, there are even parental controls to stop all online functionality as a whole on that system. But instead of beefing up the parental controls, they decide to be the parents themselves. Which is why most games that can be online aren't.

You don't have to agree with me 100% but you have to agree that it's not up to Nintendo to worry about these kinds of things though it is impressive that they actually care.

Meh. Didn't like the service that much. Pretty dumb move though
