Similar to the Twitter and Tumblr threads, I'll make one for the 0.5% of users here who potentially have a Lastfm account.

For those not familar with Lastfm, it's basically a music database website. Any musician you can probably think of all have a page on this website containing info on them, their albums and their tracks. However what makes Lastfm a great place to use is the Scrobbling feature. Scrobbling is an app Lastfm has that watches and uploads info of a track you've listened to and saves it your profile. It has diverse compatibility with tons of media players and if you use Spotify(a music streaming service), it has a built in feature on the preferences page you can turn on if you want. Using the song information that the Scrobbling feature has detected, Lastfm can do all sorts of cool stuff with it such as keeping track of albums you've listened to each month, give music recommendations similar to the artists you like, match your music taste's compatibility with other users, keep track of how many times you've listened to a song, etc.

I've had my account for about two years now and whenever I'm looking for a new artist to listen to, the recommendations from Lastfm have always been great. Now that I'm done basically selling out to this site, I felt it necessary to explain how it works since it's obviously not entirely as popular as Twitter or Tumblr and works quite differently. So if there's any music nerds out there who use this website, give a link to your profile and I'll add it to the list. I feel it's a fun way to compare each others music taste on here.
