So I've noticed that at the beggining of every new region pikachu sucks as if he started over at level 1 do we have an explanation for this?

Pikachu sucks what do you expect besides the game mechanics dont apply to the anime

Supposedly each regeion Ash goes too is stronger, which makes Pikachu look even weaker x_x

But it gives the anime an excuse to make Pikachu learn a new move :P

Pikachu doesn't get weaker, it gets older. It's just that we don't notice. It would be cool if Pikachu actually died...

Patrat's the weakest Unova Pokemon so Patrat. And getting old... Nah. It feels wrong.

From my point of view, everyone is at the same strength (For some reason), so Pikachu can lose or win any time.

It does seem like most people must all be maxed out and such, but with the anime, the game mechanics don't apply, seeing as the Pokemon can run all over the battle field and such and use other elements of the landscape for help instead of just stand and fight like in the games. That's probably one of the reasons why Pikachu could seem to be getting weaker is that everyone is maxed or close to it and its just about your own skill instead now.

In the anime, while it appears that strength of the pokemon does matter, it also seems to have a WHOLE lot to do with how it battles. On a good day, Pikachu can beat a Dragonite no problem! On a bad day, Snivy can wipe him out XD I don't think its weaker, just having ups and downs. Also, Ash's battling has a lot to do it. If the other trainer thinks quicker than Ash, then Pikachu is at a disadvantage. The team work of Trainer and Pokemon is important in the anime.

In the anime, pikachu was kinda bulky and strong sometimes, but in the anime the game machanics does not apply in the show.in game, it can't take a single hit in wi fi or against the e4 or strong trainers.it is not as good in-game as in the anime.

That's a very good point and something that isn't present in the games that could make it look like Pikachu is getting stronger and weaker from times. Since, we have seen Pikachu win against team rocket in the early episodes a lot, yet there is that occasion, where if they thought it out, they can really put the hurt on him. It's just all about your strategy, and tactics that you just can't get unless you can move around the battlefield, that you can't do in the games.

Exactly! That's what make the anime so much fun when it comes to battling!

Yes but Ash has fought over 32 gym leaders, why does he have a harder time with the Unova ones? Anime battles are different from the games but it feels like the Kanto region was so much easier for Ash to beat.

I don't think Pokemon in the anime have levels, like in the games.
So basically every pokemon is the same, it's about how you treat and train them, that makes them better than others,
And how you battle with them (Like terrain differences). And the Unova region is new, the trainers/gymleaders battle different there.
