Hi all. This is my second RU team, the first one failed epically. So I was thinking, I want a good pokemon to start with, but since this is RU, well... I landed with Archeops and Braviary as likely candidates.

Team at a glance: (In order of height!)

Team Building crap that you don't want to know, but for people who care, here you go.
So I decided to go with Archeops because he has more diversity than Braviary, as Braviary needs a Scarf or Band to actually do damage. Besides, I bet you all didn't know Archeops was RU. Nice surprise there eh?
http://imgboot.com/images/aragornbird/567.gif

Well, I needed a core after that, but after three days of hard thinking, I realized that Archeops could not form a 3-pokemon core that resisted every single type. SO I dumped in a Steelix, who resisted a nice number of types too.
http://imgboot.com/images/aragornbird/208.gif

Now I had to resist Water, Ice, Fire, Grass, and Fighting. Since Grass moves are practically extinct in RU (And OU), I left it alone. So I needed a Pokemon to resist Water, Ice, Fire, and Fighting. Straight away I looked to the water types that have Ghost, Psychic or Flying as a second type.
Water/Ghost = Jellicent (OU)
Water/Flying = Pelipper, Mantine, or Swanna. (SUCKS LIKE CRAP)
So the only water/ psychic type in RU is Slowking, so I dumped him in.

I wanted a Dragon/Steel combo in my team, and the only useful dragon in RU is Druddigon. I also wanted to resist grass. Druddigon!!!
http://imgboot.com/images/aragornbird/621.gif

And then I went on to think about a guy that can actually take down Sharpedos. Hitmonchan came to mind. After trying it for a while, I got my *** handed back to me by a Gurdurr. He isn't fully evolved, but a base 105 attack stat is still good with Bulk Up.

I remembered someone saying something about Durant raping RU, so I went ahead and stuffed him in. I have enough pokemon resisting fire anyway...

================================================== ======================

http://imgboot.com/images/aragornbird/208.gif
Steelix (M) @ Leftovers
Trait: Sturdy
EVs: 252 HP / 252 SDef
Careful Nature (+SDef, -SAtk)
- Stealth Rock
- Earthquake
- Dragon Tail
- Stone Edge

He's not my lead. I prefer to lead with Archeops, so I usually dump him in front to lure out the Pokemon whom Archeops can take out. Sturdy because I have no need for Rock Head, Leftovers are good for walls and such. EV spread gives me survivialness from the special side. Careful Nature for obvious reasons.

Stealth Rock ruins guys like Yanmega and does residue damage on teams that rely on switching, often turning 2HKOs into OHKOs. Definitely useful. Earthquake for STABbing other pokemon. Dragon Tail stops Baton Passing chains and racks up Stealth Rock damage. Stone Edge takes down flying types and gives Ground/Rock coverage.

http://imgboot.com/images/aragornbird/199.gif
Slowking (M) @ Leftovers
Trait: Regenerator
EVs: 4 HP / 252 Def / 252 SDef
Bold Nature (+Def, -Atk)
- Scald
- Slack Off
- Ice Beam
- Trick Room

I was kinda sad that Slowking's bro (Slowbro) didn't make it to the RU... But enough of the puns. Leftovers is auto recovery, Regenerator is xD... kinda... I won't bother explain the EV spread. Bold Nature because my defence is kinda... (SFX: Duh duh duh) PHAIL!

Scald. You like scallops? They don't burn. Scald does though. Beware. (Don't worry Quagsire you can stay Unaware). Slack Off to wall, wall, and wall some more. Erosion anyone? Ice Beam to kill the unexisting dragons in RU, to get walled by water types... Do I have to go on? Really, there isn't actually a better move other than Psychic. Maybe I'll have Psychic instead... Trick Room is gimmiky. It screws with Sharpedos and other fast pokes hoping to mess around with me. I have enough slow pokes for Trick Room. Four more Pokes to go before you run off and view another RMT! Bear with me.

http://imgboot.com/images/aragornbird/567.gif
Archeops (M) @ Flight Gem
Trait: Defeatist
EVs: 4 HP / 252 Atk / 252 Spd
Jolly Nature (+Spd, -SAtk)
- Acrobatics
- U-turn
- Earthquake
- Stone Edge

De-Fist! Ima Pawnch choo in da fase! Jkjk. Who here ♥ Archeops? Flight Gem + Acrobatics = Pwn. Deafeatist because... go ask GameFreak on why they decided to troll Archeops so badly. EV spread... well duh. I'm not gonna use Special Attacks anyway. Jolly 'cause I have ta outspeed lots of stuff if I wanna stay at more than 1/2 HP.

Acrobatics with a knife STABs the opponent nicely. It STABs even without a knife but hey! Knifes STAB the hardest. Now I'm gonna type in chinese for no apparent reason. U-turn 因为我喜欢。Understand? If not, it means U-turn because I like it. Really, its good. For Archeops's health. Earthquake because it is awesome. Stone Edge kills annoying Murkrows *coughcoughSomeoneIGuesscoughcough* hoping to perish trap me. It also STABs.

http://imgboot.com/images/aragornbird/621.gif
Druddigon (M) @ Leftovers
Trait: Rough Skin
EVs: 252 HP / 252 Atk / 4 Def
Adamant Nature (+Atk, -SAtk)
- Dragon Claw
- Crunch
- Snatch
- Superpower

The only uhhh... useful dragon in RU. Yup. That. Leftovers because he's bulky and such. Rough Skin because it rules and stuff. EV because he's bulky and uhh... something like that. Adamant Nature because he has a base 120 attack and... pathetic speed. I'll spell it out. P-A-T-H-E-T-I-C.

*My fingers are tired* Dragon Claw STABs and doesn't lock me into one move, like Outrage does. Crunch kills ghosts and random psychic types. I dunno. Snatch is gimmiky again, but it was funny when I snatched Cresselia's rest. Superpower wrecks Steel Types that come to wall me. Duh Duh Duh. Two more left.

http://imgboot.com/images/aragornbird/533.gif
Gurdurr (M) @ Eviolite
Trait: Guts
EVs: 252 Atk / 4 Def / 252 SDef
Adamant Nature (+Atk, -SAtk)
- Bulk Up
- Drain Punch
- Mach Punch
- Payback

*Pants* It was Eviolite or Leftovers. What would you pick? Guts because Sheer Force doesn't go with Mach Punch and Drain Punch by a long shot. Besides, I could be lucky to get statued. EVs are distributed in way that I wouldn't be murdered by a single Thunderbolt from a random Pokemon. Adamant because... see above.

Exact same moveset as a Conkeldurr. Bulk Up raises attack and defence. Drain Punch recovers HP. Mach Punch for priority fun. Payback to hit ghosts. (Its getting shorter)

http://imgboot.com/images/aragornbird/632.gif
Durant (M) @ Life Orb
Trait: Hustle
EVs: 4 HP / 252 Atk / 252 Spd
Jolly Nature (+Spd, -SAtk)
- Hone Claws
- X-Scissor
- Thunder Fang
- Shadow Claw / Iron Head

I can see the (Light!) End! Life Orb to increase killage. Hustle increase killage too. EV spread increase killage again, and Jolly Nature does(NOT) increase killage! *Celebrates*

Hone Claws is the crux of this set. It makes Durant's ummm... claws? get sharper so that he doesn't miss. (Pokemon has a really twisted logic in this). X-Scissor cuts and STABs the opponent. Weeee! Thunder Fang is the only reliable attack I can use to hit steel types. Shadow Claw kills stuff. Iron Head flinches nicely, but has lousy coverage.

================================================== =====================

Its done? OH YES ITS DONE! Now Rate it. And help me make it better. Don't you dare run away... So back to being serious, this team has won every battle it has taken part in since I added Gurdurr. I'm hoping to further improve it. Remember, this is an RU team, so don't try to be funny and suggest a Pokemon that is obviously OU.

People use Dig on Durant. Usually it's Hone Claws Dig Iron Head X-Scissor.

You has 4 more usable EVs on Steelix

Brave on Druddigon and Gurdurr, and Sassy on Steelix. Relaxed Slowking. TR Abuse. Replace Stone Edge with Gyro Ball, since Gyro Ball's gonna hit harder anyway. IDK About speeds though.

Druddigon Sucker Punch > Crunch. Owwtrage > Dragon Claw since Steels are less commonplace here, just kill the steel and you're done. Try Life Orb or Muscle Band, since Expert Belt + Dragon Type = Fail.

I'm getting old...er

For steelix you should replace dragon tail with roar. Dragon tail may be damage, but roar can go through a sub and has reliable accuracy. And since espeon and xatu are UU, it won't get bounced back. If I were you I would also make him sassy and 0 speed EVs and give him gyro ball over stone edge.

You can also change druddigon and gurdurr's nature to brave, just in case there is something slower when you want to bring him into trick room. It's not like he's going to outspeed anything anyway.

Edit: F***ing SIG beat me to most of this. But really roar > dragon tail

Also curious, since there are a ton of venomoth, butterfree, and liligant running around. Who are you using as sleep fodder?

That's not how he rolls. He'll probably put something bulky to sleep, switch it out, then send out Steelix and PHAZE. Oh, HP Before Defenses on King there. Awl weiz.

Move Archy's HP Into Defense. Survival of 4 Stealth Rock Damage.

Probably Steelix... Maybe I'll edit my team and dump in a Proper sleep fodder.

But what I do is to switch and put Steelix to sleep.
