Exploud

Typing: Normal

Ability:

Soundproof: This Pokemon has full immunity to sound baised moves.

Mixed Attacker

Exploud @ Life Orb
Ability: Soundproof
EV's: 252 Atk / 104 Sp.Atk / 152 Spd.
Nature: Lonley (+ Atk, - Def.)
- Return / Body Slam / Hyper Voice
- Crunch / Shadow Ball
- Earthquake / Brick Break / Focus Blast
- Fire Blast / Flamethrower / Overheat / Ice Beam / Blizzard

This set in my opinion has plenty of options and hopefully gives it some well needed gameplay. Anyways take your pick between STAB moves. Return for more power, Body Slam for 30% paralysis, Hyper Voice to hit STAB special. Crunch or Shadow Ball to hit your ghosties for super effective damage. Earthquake, Brick Break, or Focus Blast for steels. Last move is just preference for firepower or to give your opponents a chill.

Mixed Attacker V:2.0

Exploud @ Expert Belt / Life Orb
Ability: Soundproof
EV's: 252 Atk. / 104 Sp.Atk / 152 Spd.
Nature: Lonley: (+ Atk, - Def.)
- Thunderpunch / Thunder Fang
- Fire Punch / Flamethrower / Fire Blast
- Ice Punch / Ice Beam / Blizzard
- Brick Break / Focus Blast

This guy can pack so many super-effective hits it will make your head spin. With Bolt-Beam coverage along with fighting and fire support it will have no problem dealing massive damage to whatever is slower than itself.

Specs-Ploud

Exploud @ Choice Specs
Ability: Soundproof
EV's: 104 HP / 252 Sp.Atk / 152 Spd.
Nature: Modest (+ Sp.Atk, - Atk.)
- Hyper Voice / Hyper Beam
- Shadow Ball
- Focus Blast / Fire Blast / Overheat
- Surf / Ice Beam / Blizzard

Typical Choice Specs setup here. Giving you a reasonable combination of moves Exploud learns. Hyper Voice always over Hyper Beam but still mentioned as it could bring about a LOL surprise kill. (Shoop-Da-Whoop Anyone) Shadow Ball to hit your ghosties. Focus Blast, Fire Blast, Overheat for steels. (Note fire moves cover grasses as Focus Blast covers Normals and Darks) Surf for fire types, Ice Beam and Blizzard for Flyers and Dragons.

Band-Ploud

Exploud @ Choice Band
Ability: Soundproof
EV's: 252 Atk. / 104 Sp.Atk / 152 Spd.
Nature: Lonley (+ Atk, - Def)
- Return / Body Slam
- Crunch
- Earthquake
- Fire Blast / Flamethrower / Overheat

Typical Choice Band setup here. Return or Body Slam is a simple battle of power vs paralysis. Crunch for super-effective vs ghost types. Earthquake for Fires, Rocks, and Steels. Fire Blast, Flamethrower, Overheat for high Defense Steels such as Skarmory, Forretress, and Steelix.

Other Options

It does get all the elemental punches. (Ice, Fire, Thunder Punch) From the 3rd Gen Emerald move-tutor. If that somehow tickles your fancy.

Hidden Power Grass could be good picks too if your concerned with bulky waters. Grass dealing massive damage to Ground / Waters such as Quagsire, Whiscash, and Swampert.

Rock Slide is also a decent option vs Charizard, Moltres, and Articuno.

Extrasensory also gets a mention in my opinion as it is an egg move in 3rd and 4th Gen that will help it deal with Fighting types, with high PP and a 10% flinch rate it is at least worth a mention.

Counter is a 3rd Gen R/S/E move-tutor attack that can snag a K.O. on opponets that would otherwise give it a hard time.

Mega Kick / Double-Edge make for more powerful STAB moves from the 3rd Gen R/S/E move-tutor. Both at 120 power preference is recoil vs accuracy.

Seismic Toss is another 3rd Gen R/S/E move-tutor attack that brings about consistant damage.

Icy Wind is a 3rd Gen Emerald move-tutor attack that can make pokes slower than Exploud. (Don't use if you are using Body Slam.)

*Outrage*: Something to consider using as it provides good coverage and is pretty powerful.

*Zen Headbutt*: Another interesting physical move than can be used on the Choice Band or Mixed Attacker sets.

Counters

Anything that outruns or lives any of its attacks it and hits hard with a Fighting attack is a counter. Machamp and Hitmontop can live most if not all of Explouds attacks barring Zen Headbutt and hit back with STAB fighting to deliver a K.O. Switching in something like Infernape will be hard but 1 on 1 Infernape will win virtually every time.

Opinion

Probably one of the most under-rated / over-looked pokes in the game. With base 91 attacking stats it can deal some vicious damage with the life orb set. It's movepool is so incredibly massive it can surprise many an opponent. Granted it isn't the fastest thing in the world but it can always have agility passed to it (As it is immune to Roar through Soundproof) or slow the enemy down itself with Icy Wind or Body Slam. Also with base 104 HP it can also live a few neutral hits as well.

'ploud is so under-rated. Sweet idea getting him some attention ^^

you could add a howl set though... just to abuse soundproof, stopping those roars.
Bit novelty, but looks fun. Nice work though.

Yeah I figured but it wouldn't last long enough, becides it's probably more effective passing stats to it anyways. (Especially speed)

@Statigar: Hopefully ill get more of these puppies done. ^_^
