Bellossom:
http://www.arkeis.com/images/pokemonfactory/bellossom.png
Summary:
Bellossom:
Most Used Bellossom Set:
Bellosom should abuse Sunny Day, and to abuse Sunny Day to its full extent, it should run some sort of Special sweeper set.
Usual Counters:
OU: Blissey can wall Bellossom like it walls any Special attacker, but it should be careful of switching into Physical sets by mistake. Steel-types such as Bronzong, Magnezone, Metagross, Skarmory, Forretress, Scizor etc. can all easily wall Bellossom if its not carrying Hidden Power Fire. Heatran is resistant to Bellossoms STAB Grass attacks, and it can also grab a Flash Fire boost if it switches on Hidden Power Fire, while it retaliates by using Fire Blast which will score an OHKO on Bellossom.
UU: Hypno and Grumping can easily wall Bellossom, but like Blissey they should be careful of Physical sets. Articuno can easily switch in on any move Bellossom carries that isnt named Hidden Power Fire, and throw an Ice Beam which scores an OHKO on the poor little plant.
Bellossom Is Used On:
Bellossom is usually found on Sunny Day teams as it needs the Sunny Day support to be effective. It shouldnt set up Sunny Day itself since it needs the move slot to use another attack, but if its team mates cant set it up then it can do it itself.
In Depth:
http://www.pokesho.com/img_icon_us/i_bellossom.gifSunlight Abuser@ Leftovers / Heat Rock
Ability: Chlorophyll
EVs: 4 HP / 252 SpA / 252 Spe
Nature: Modest (+SpA, -Atk) Or Timid (+Spe, -Atk)
- Sunny Day / Stun Spore
- Solar Beam / Energy Ball / Grass Knot / Leaf Storm
- Sleep Powder
- Hidden Power Fire / Hidden Power Ice / Hidden Power Ground
This works well in Under Used environment with Sunny Day support, as it helps boost Bellossoms poor Speed stat which allows it to Sleep Pokemon more easily and Leesh Seed others more easily. Hidden Power Fire is for Steel-types such as Steelix and Mawile as it 2HKOs and OHKOs the aforementioned Steel-types, respectively. Hidden Power Ice can be used for Flying and Dragon-types such as Altaria, Swellow etc., while Hidden Power Ground is for Heatran (if you decide to use this in the Over Used environment). You can set up Sunny Day on your own but its generally not recommended, hence Stun Spore can take its place. Sleep Powder is for crippling another member of your opponents team allowing Bellossom to have an easier time sweeping.
http://www.pokesho.com/img_icon_us/i_bellossom.gifSub Seed baby@ Leftovers
Ability: Chlorophyll
EVs: 252 HP / 132 Def / 124 SpD
Nature: Calm (+SpD, -Atk) or Sassy (+SpD, -Spe)
- Substitute
- Leech Seed
- Leaf Storm / Sludge Bomb / Hidden Power Ice
- Stun Spore / Sleep Powder
Bellossom is your basic Grass-type, and as such, it has the option of running a Sub-Seed set. Basically, start the battle by crippling your opponent with either Sleep Powder or Stun Spore, then proceed with either Substituting or Leesh Seeding depending on what seems more appropriate in the situation. From there just try to hurt your opponent with the move you picked for the third slot while you recover health due to Leesh Seeds effect.

Ability: Chlorophyll
EVs: 252 HP / 132 Def / 124 SpD
Nature: Calm (+SpD, -Atk) or Sassy (+SpD, -Spe)
- Sleep Powder
- Stun Spore / Toxic
- Leech Seed / Safeguard / Charm
- Leaf Storm
A very neat set that can support your team mates greatly. Leaf Storm is for STAB and an all round powerful move. Stun Spore is to Paralyze foes; the Paralysis also negates Bellossoms Speed problem, while Toxic can help you whittle down your opponents health much more easily. Leesh Seed is for a nice way of annoyance and causes more switches, although it is a NYC event move so if youre using this on Wi-fi it might be hard to seek a good one with good IVs and a good Nature. Charm is to help Bellosom's rather average Defense, while Safe Guard enables you to avoid annoying status effects.
http://www.pokesho.com/img_icon_us/i_bellossom.gifPlant Of Choice@ Choice Specs
Ability: Chlorophyll
EVs: 252 HP / 252 SpA / 4 Spe
Nature: Modest (+SpA, -Atk)
- Leaf Storm
- Sludge Bomb / Grass Knot
- Hidden Power Fire / Hidden Power Ice / Grass Knot
- Sleep Powder
This is your basic hit and run Choice Specs Pokemon. The Grass attacks are for STAB and will cause a lot of damage on your opponent. Sludge Bomb might have terrible type coverage but Bellossoms Special movepool is very horrific, so Sludge Bomb can be considered to do some decent damage against your opponent. Sleep Powder is to let your team mates have an easier time with a certain threat as it will cripple one Pokemon per battle.
http://www.pokesho.com/img_icon_us/i_bellossom.gifDancing Flower@ Leftovers / Life Orb
Ability: Chlorophyll
EVs: 252 HP / 252 Atk / 4 Spe
Nature: Adamant (+Atk, -SpA) Or Brave (+Atk, -Spe)
- Swords Dance
- Double-Edge / Return
- Drain Punch
- Seed Bomb / Sleep Powder
Bellossom might be outclassed by other Physical attackers since its Attack stat is nothing spectacular, but this set should be considered because of the surprise factor. Basically, just surprise a Special wall expecting to wall your Special attacks with a Sword Dance boosted STAB boosted Seed Bomb which scores an OHKO on the usual Special walls. Life Orb is preferred on this set as Bellossoms Attack stat is mediocre and you should try to boost is as much as you can; although, if youre scared of Life Orb recoil adding up then Leftovers is an option but comes at the price of less power. Double-Edge for tons of power but recoil while Return for decent yet reliable power. Drain Punch is mainly filler as Bellossom doesnt have many Physical attacking options.
http://www.pokesho.com/img_icon_us/i_bellossom.gifToxic Stall@ Leftovers
Ability: Chlorophyll
EVs: 252 HP / 132 Def / 124 SpD
Nature: Calm (+SpD, -Atk) Or Sassy (+SpD, -Spe)
- Hidden Power Fire / Grass Knot
- Leech Seed
- Protect
- Toxic
This is your basic Toxic stall set. Protect works nicely with Leech Seed as it allows you to have more turns to recover HP from Leech Seed while your opponent loses more health from a combination of Toxic and Leech Seed. Hidden Power Fire aids you against Steel-types who otherwise completely wall this set, but Grass Knot can be considered for STAB.
Other Options:
Bellossom gets Moonlight and Synthesis, but theyre not recommended as theyre ruined by Sandstorm and Hail, but you could use them if youre desperate for recovery. If critical hits give you rashes, then Lucky Chant will alleviate the itching for five turns. Other then that Bellossoms movepool is nothing fabulous.
Opinion:
Bellossom is very versatile, but its movepool doesnt aid its versatility. Although, that shouldnt stop you from considering this amazing little plant, as it can support your team drastically and it might surprise your opponent with a Physical set.
