Regirock

http://www.arkeis.com/images/pokemonfactory/regirock.png

Summary:

Most Used Regirock Set:

Statusing, walling, and Cursing up are its main things. With its solid Defense stats you can’t see why not.

Usual Counters:

Hippowdon, Gliscor, Swampert are some of the Ground-types give it a hard time. Starmie and Milotic can be potential threads to Regirock as their Hydro Pump / Surf will 2HKO Regirock while he retaliates with bearly scratching them back. Celebi will wall almost every set. Lucario can set up on it if its not carrying Fire Punch or Earthqake. Metagross can KO or 2KO it demending on the set. And a lot more other things…

Types of teams Regirock is used on:

Sandstorm and some stall teams due to his possession of the Rock-type which gets several boosts under Sandstorm and is vital for stall teams.

@ Leftovers
Ability: Clear Body
EVs: 252 HP/6 Def/252 SDef
Careful nature (+SDef, -SAtk)
- Toxic / Body Slam / Thunder Wave
- Stealth Rock
- Rock Slide
- Ice Punch / Earthquake / Hammer Arm

Like the name suggests the point of this set is to mainly set up rocks and status your opponents pokes. Toxic is to wear down walls that might come in like Hippowdon and Swampert or Paralyze Steels and fast sweepers. For Regirock Body Slam would be better than T-Wave in most cases since grounds do come in a lot on this poor fella. If grounds don’t bother you that much then go right ahead and use ThunderWave. Ice Punch and ThunderWave make a good combo since then you can hit Grounds. Earthquake or Hammer Arm to hit Tyranitar and Steels if your using toxic.

@ Leftovers
Ability: Clear Body
EVs: 252 HP/112 Def/144 SDef
Impish nature (+Def, -SAtk)
- Rock Slide
- Swagger
- Body Slam/ ThunderWave
- Psych Up/ Explosion

Oh how these sets are the funniest to see your opponent in agony trying to move. I recommend you use this set with Stealth Rock and Spikes on the ground. First Paralyze your opponent with either Body Slam or ThunderWave. T-Wave would be best in this circumstance. Then Swagger to confuse them and maybe copy their stat boosts. Since Regirock has great defensive stats it wont matter that much (just don’t give something like Lucario any major attack boosts). Now either they’ll switch or stay in to get massacred. You can either Psych Up or Rock Slide at this point. Or if your predicting a switch then ThunderWave or Explode and laugh in your opponents face, but just don’t waste Regirock as it can help in late game.

http://www.pokesho.com/img_icon_us/i_regirock.gifRest Talker
@ Leftovers
Ability: Clear Body
EVs: 252 HP/6 Atk/252 SDef
Careful nature (+SDef, -SAtk)
- Rest
- Sleep Talk
- Rock Slide
- Earthquake / Hammer Arm

This set makes an excellent status absorber due to Regirock's amazing Defensive capabilities. Rest is Regirock's only form of recovery, thus the creation of this set. Just so you get a few ideas about Regirock's Defensive capabilities under Sandstorm, I will outline a few notable moves that Regirock can survive:

Life Orb Focus Blast from Gengar will never 2HKO.
Infernape's Life Orb Close Combat is survived by this Regirock.
Yanmega's Bug Buzz is a 4HKO at best.
Surfs from the likes of bulky Water-types will never OHKO and might not 2HKO (depending on which Water-type is being used).

http://www.pokesho.com/img_icon_us/i_regirock.gifCurse the Rock
@ Leftovers
Ability: Clear Body
EVs: 252 HP/6 Atk/252 SDef
Careful nature (+SDef, -SAtk)
- Curse
- Stone Edge
- Hammer Arm/ Fire Punch/ Earthquake
- Ice Punch/ Explosion/ Rest

An impressive set just cause of the sheer bulk of its stats with just one curse. Curse once and your immune to any OHKO from any physical attack (considering no crit and full health). Hammer Arm and Fire Punch or Earthquake is for the steels that might wall you. Ice Punch for Gliscor and other Grounds ruining your fun. Explosion is to net a KO on almost anything after 1 or more curses. Or finally just Rest off the damage, though for this type of set attacking or exploding would be best since many things that come in can set up on Regirock.

http://www.pokesho.com/img_icon_us/i_regirock.gifThe Rock
@ Choice Band
Ability: Clear Body
EVs: 6 HP/252 Atk/252 Spe
Adamant nature (+Atk,-SpA)
- Ice Punch
- Stone Edge
- Fire Punch/ Earthquake
- Explosion

Slow but packs a punch, its like getting hit by a brick ^_^. Ice Punch is for Dragon / Flying-types and Gliscor. Fire Punch is to hit steels or Earthquake, whichever you prefer. If you choose Fire Punch you’ll be more susceptible to Heatran and Ttar, while Earthquake is a move that will allow Skarmory to easily switch in and start setting up. Explosion is a last resort to take down one more Pokemon.

http://www.pokesho.com/img_icon_us/i_regirock.gifCounter
@ Leftovers
Ability: Clear Body
EVs: 252 HP/6 Atk/252 Spe
Adamant nature (+Atk,-SpA)
- Rock Polish
- Counter
- Stone Edge
- Explosion

Rock Polish during a switch and then get hit by a physical attack and boom 1 poke taken down from Counter. Next turn you should be fast enough to either Stone Edge them or just explode. If you know your low on HP then just go boom.

Other Options

Super Power, Psych Up and Thunderpunch which are all good moves except Super Power lowers Regirocks two most important stats, Psych Up is good but you wont be able to use it all the time, Thunderpunch just hits some things harder but most of the time other moves have better type coverage and pack the same power.

Opinion

A great poke its just you have to know how to use it. It has many options and uses but the typing of its poor. Though if you’re any good battler that likes using not that over used pokes this thing is your perfect match.

First of all, this is an amazing analysis ^.^ just some minor nitpicks:

Regirock

Usual Counters:
Water, Grass, Ground, Steel, and Fighting are its weaknesses. So be watching out for Starmies, Suicunes, Hippowdons, Swamperts, and other nasty weaknesses. Sadly Rock has so many common weaknesses.

Other than the things i've pointed out, you only have a few minor flaws, which are mostly in grammar.
