All sets with Dragon Pulse, serious?

Dragon pulse is supposed to counter Dragons for super-effective damage, you will get a x2, those Dragons in the Metagame being Salamence, Dragonite, Flygon and Haxorus. Dragon Pulse also covers all other types for normal damage, except for steel types (which are nerfed all the way bye the optional fire move and earth power). But lets think, what does Ground and Fire cover for NEUTRAL damage? Everything but: Charizard, Gyarados, Aerodactyl, Moltres, Dragonite, Mantine, Ho-oh, Wingull, Pelipper, Altaria, Salamence, Rayquaza, Mantyke, Archen, Archeops, Ducklett, Swanna. So why the use of Dragon Pulse and not HP Ice. HP Ice hits 3 out of 4 of the most used dragons in the metagame for x4 super-effective damage (a raw 280 power, opposed to the 180 from dragon pulse). Dragon Pulse is wrecked up in the metagame, because HP Ice has more coverage (go check http://pokemondb.net/tools/type-coverage) and is x4 super effective against the threats Heatran is supposed to cover. As a bonus there is a OHKO against Gliscor.

Seriously, you sir need to get your typings checked. Because those are all covered by one move or the other. To add Altaria takes super effective damage from D. Pulse, Dragonite also takes Super effective damage, Mence does.. hold up you mentioned the dragon flyings earlier and I think you forgot about it and just relied on Fire Blast. Sir, the only Pokemon that does not take super effective damage from the old school "Fire Claw" combo is an opposing Heatran. but HP Ice should be slashed by D. Pulse if not already there. T'is a matter or preference of the team constructor's as they may have something to check certain threats already.
