Recap of Nintendo Direct

In the latest airing of Nintendo Direct, the prestident of Nintendo of Japan, Satoru Iwata, showed us new game play of Black2 and White2, the upcoming AR Searcher app, the Pokédex Pro app, and displayed an upcoming 3DS firmware. If you missed the presentation, you can watch a recording below:







The AR Searcher app will be available on June 23rd in the Nintendo 3DS eShop for 300 Yen ($4 USD). In AR Searcher, you can search for Pokémon and shoot beams to attempt to capture them. Pictured on the right, you can see an attempt at capturing Ho-Oh. On the left is a screenshot showing Ralts when it is added to the AR Searcher.







Pokédex Pro will be available on July 14th in the Nintendo 3DS eShop for 1,500 Yen (about $19 USD). The Pokédex Pro app will include all 649 Pokémon from the National Pokedex. Pictured below, ranking functionality has been introduced:

An upcoming 3DS firmware update will allow for folders to be created and given descriptive names of up to 16 characters in length. Apps can be dragged from the Home Menu into folders for better organization. Each folder can hold up to 60 apps, which can drastically save space if you have a cluttered Home Menu. Here is an overview of the folder:

It was also confirmed that Pokémon Black2 & White2 will be released on June 23rd for 4,800 Yen (about $58 USD). Check out the BW2 images page, where I have added 25 screenshots. On the left is the building where you find the Mechanical Tyranitar. On the right is a cut-scene featuring its encounter. Perhaps this Mechanical Tyranitar is the result of Professor Achroma's research on Pokémon strength?

Another trailer was revealed, this one had the same things as the last one except for a preview on the new movie feature and a few new locations, battle scenes etc.
