4th gen pokesav
i have tried to troubleshoot all of my issues but i cannot get my 4th gen games to connect to the internet. i have a 3ds that is connected to the internet i always use but whenever i try to set up a connection on my pearl, platinum, and soul silver, it always says that i cannot connect to the internet and says error code 5somethingsomethingsomething. i had also typed in the dns that connects the game to the pokesav, but i cant get the game to connect while the dns is in place. is nintendo blocking the 4th gen pokesav also?

Can you connect to the internet when you take the DNS off? You need to have a working internet connection before trying to change the DNS.

yes i can connect to the internet with the dns, because i was on the gts before i tried the pokesav.

Some people have had that error, and I'm not sure why. I think it may have something to do with your internet service provider or your router. If you can, then please try it on a different connection (don't forget that you'll need to reselect your Pokemon if you use a different connection).

Today I tried to Pokesav a Chimchar for my Pearl game since I want to use all three starters to beat the game, and I gave it a legitimate moveset for a level 20 one (I made sure Serebii said it could learn said moves before level 20) and I gave it a Rare Candy and I gave it all 31 IVs without specifying any Hidden Power types or anything, and I checked the "auto fix PID" box. I also gave it a Naive nature and made sure all the "met-at" locations and things like that were Lake Verity, Starter (DP), and so on and so forth. But then when I clicked "Send to GTS" it took forever to load the next page which is the confirmation page followed by "PID could not be generated". Am I doing something wrong? I don't think my IV criteria was too strict since I wasn't specifying a Hidden Power or anything at all, I just wanted a Chimchar with a good nature and moveset along with a Rare Candy and things like that. Of note is that I also a few months ago or so tried to Pokesave a Persian with Hidden Power Ice base 60 power and even if I took out the Hidden Power criteria and just gave it IVs without specifying the Hidden Power I wanted, the same page showed up saying my IV criteria was too strict or something else was wrong that made a PID impossible to generate. Am I doing something wrong or is the 4th gen GTS just not working? Thanks so much!

aquashiram14:
My PID generator was designed to restrict processing power, since it is located on the same server as this site. In order to prevent the site from crashing, I have limited the capabilities of the PID generator. Only choose 31 IVs in two stats, and then set the rest to be 0, so they will be randomized.

i have tried the pokesav on a couple different internet servers, and it still doent work. i also wanted to get the event mew, but i sent it to the gts and it didnt work

When I said to try a different connection, I didn't mean a different GTS server. I meant that you should use a different internet connection other than your home internet connection, such as a coffee shop or library. Remember that you will need to resend your Pokemon to the GTS, because Pokemon requests are tracked by your internet connection.

ya i meant internet connections sorry. i tried at my house, my step moms house and my school. am i supposed to set up the internet, and then send the pokemon? also a couple ppl i know said that you cant do the pokesav at the school because there were to many connections. is this true? srry for the bother but i have 643 pokemon in my pokedex and mew is one of the ones i need.

First you set up the internet, then you click "Send to GTS". After that, you can visit the GTS.
It should work, as long as you use the same internet connection on your game, that you used to click "Send to GTS". Can you tell me the exact error code?
