Well, this worked like a charm. But question, do I have to repeat these steps every time I decide to play?

No you do it once for the newest Rom with the latest patch and you are set to go. That is until a newer patch comes out and then you have got to repeat it.

Glad to hear it worked for you. Just remember, once the new patch is out you will have to patch over a clean Rom and repeat this process to keep your save.

"When I click on "Select ROM save format:"
Do I save it as a:
DeSmuME ROM Save(.dsv) or No$GBA ROM Save(.sav) or Raw Save File(.sav)?
My one is currently saved as the .dsv file, will it still work on a new patched game?

i do a more simple operation if i want to move from a rom to another , i just save my dsv file , then patch the game in the same dirrectory and it work normally.
it's probably 'cause i have upgraded desmume 0.9.8 ( desmume special mods )
so desmume od this operation by itself.
@extremepiwy , yes , do this steps and the dsv file will surely work.
EDIT: this topic should stay sticked.(for a while)

I save it as a Raw Save file the .sav and it works.
The others would probably work but i haven't checked it out honestly.
