Nintendo 3DS XL
The Nintendo 3DS will soon get a larger screen when the 3DS XL is released in the USA on August 19th, for $199. The original console's top screen measured 3.53 inches, while the 3DS XL will measure 4.88 inches. This 90% larger screen will create a more immersive 3D effect for gamers.
There are other notable changes besides the screen. The Select, Start, and Home buttons no longer have a flexible plastic cover over them, and instead they exist as true individual buttons. This significantly improves the lifespan of these three buttons, so you'll no longer need to worry about them wearing-out as soon. The shell of the 3DS XL now has a matte finish instead of the previous glossy finish with sparkles. This will also add to the immersive 3D effect, since the matte finish reflects less light when compared to a glossy finish. The 3D slider now clicks when the 3D effect is turned all the way down. Glancing next to the 3D slider, the 3D indicator light is now absent on the 3DS XL. Perhaps Nintendo felt it was unnecessary, or maybe this was done to prevent distracting gamers from the screen. The 3DS XL's curvier shell and larger size work together to provide a more ergonomic grip for extended periods of gaming. The battery life has also been slightly improved, as the 3DS will last up to five hours, while the 3DS XL will last up to six hours. How do you think the 3DS XL compares to its original? For the extra $30 added to the price tag, which would you pick? Let us know in the comments.

Juunigatsu No Ryuu
I'm going to be picking on up this Thursday. I love my DSi XL, and I like the 3DS. I would nerdgasm on their incestuous love child.
