Why do people hate 4th Generation (Diamond/Pearl/Platinum)

It was still awful. That happened more so because new people were trying the game and because people weren't tired of it any more because they had taken a break from the series.

Bad in game, there's a story line, it takes 10 minutes for sandstorm to rage/leftovers heal, bike music was stupid and it made me not want to ride a bike.

However i'll say this much, I'm glad 4th gen was released because a) wifi b) the physical/special movepool thing really made their be a variety of type coverage stuff that you could.

If you ask me, every generation has its flaws, but they also had their good moments. It's just that they tried too hard on graphical stuff and didn't focus on content as much as the other games.

i personally haz gen4 as my favorite generation. for one, sinnoh has geological variety, not just water (hoenn) or flat land (kanto and jhoto) or mountains (unova). there are good strips of land from all categories.
and gen4 has the second best pokemon soundtrack (bested by hoenn)
and dont forget that the majority of us see pokemon mystery dungeon 2 (exp. of time/darkness) as the best pokemon spin-off, which derives from the fourth gen.
we reallly have no need to hate the fourth gen

Pretty much, the region is slow, especially in Diamond and Pearl. I thought Game Freak decided to show off how flashy all of the moves could be with the DS rather then make battles more efficient (which gets fixed in 5th gen). Also, running speed is slow, the music isn't as good as in the other games, the gym leaders battles aren't as memorable as say Kanto or Johto, and the surfing speed in Diamond and Pearl is painful (thank god that got fixed in Platinum).

I don't like 4th gen because

1. It's slow as hell
2. Characters that aren't Barry have no personality
3. Barry is a ****(anyway).
4. There were really only 20 cool Pokemon
5. Sinnoh feels so... empty
6. **** like sinking mud and deep snow
7. Cynthia was hella predictable to be champion
8. The music was really nothing special
9. So many ****ing legendaries, half of them completely unnecessary.
10. The poffin mixing minigame just about destroyed my touch screen
11. Team Galactic seriously never became any more challenging
12. Out all Pokemon they could choose from previous generations to appear in the main game, they made horrible choices.

14. gotta see 'em all
15. There's really no reason to play it unless you're into Wifi battling

It's because the Pokemon are stupid looking and stats on most of the Pokemon are horrible. I hate to go off-topic, but in my Pokemon Black adventure, I often had to switch Pokemon because the Pokemon I currently had were so bad, and the ones I got were bad as well.

I'll agree that they look stupid but hey the stats sucked in gen one too. I had to go to the pokemoncenter like every battle.

I don't hated it but The reason i didn't like it is because it came strait after third gen which was amazing and the lack of water route and all the things that liked from third gen ment that I didn't really like oh and some of the new pokemon were lame (Bidoof I'm looking at you).
