    THE Squirtle Squadcast Thread

Hi everyone! It's Marissa, here to give you the low down on the hoedown that is the Squirtle Squadcast. This post will serve as your comprehensive guide to the YouTube Channel, the podcast, and how the whole shebang comes together.

    I. What IS the Squirtle Squadcast?
The Squadcast started out in February 2015 as a podcast run by a group of staff members on ye olde SS Forums. Now, the YouTube channel is home to not only the podcast, but several other gameplay series featuring the various folks involved. The podcast will always remain the central focus of the channel though, even if we get delayed on occasion. The Squirtle Squadcast itself is home to classic discussions about a variety of things from our nerd repertoire ranging from N64 Hockey games to strange professors to John Cena discussions. It's a fun time had by all!

    II. THE SQUAD
Primarily, the podcast crew consists of Nick (@Majorasfan), Scott (@XpL), Jasem (@Tainers14), Will (... @Will), Marissa (that's me!), and Zach (@Zachgoose). The majority of us can be found on each of the podcast episodes, where you'll also occasionally find Anthony (@Xerodragon12), Skye (@Minntul), Ch33se (@EpicCh33se), Michael (@Merga), and Garth (@Kyohack) -- they're the less chatty, yet still important, half of our crew.

    V. FAQ
Q: How often are podcast episodes released?
A: Bi-weekly, which means once every two weeks! Occasionally scheduling conflicts get the better of us, but as a whole that's the plan!

Q: I get bored listening to podcasts, is there any reason why I should check it out?
A: I've heard this a lot, and my advice is to use podcasts (in general) the same way you might use music-- typically in the background while working on something else. Typically I'll listen to a podcast when I'm working on something at my computer (with the podcast downloaded to my phone or open in another tab) or when walking around college campus. It's really enjoyable when you find the right context!

    Q: Are ____ and ____ dating?
    A: Probably.

Q: How long have you all known each other?
A: A few of the squad members have known each other for 6+ years, but even the most recent addition to the group has been around for at least 2!

Q: Do you have a Twitch channel? Will you livestream the podcast?
A: We won't be livestreaming the podcast anytime soon, partly because scheduling is often so chaotic that it would be difficult to set consistent streaming times and partly because the amount of effort it takes to maintain an entertaining stream would (as of now) not be worth it for the amount of people who would show up. If someday we become super famous internet memers, I'm sure we'll consider it then.
However, feel free to follow us on Twitch, we may use the dang thing someday.

Q: Why did you decide to make a podcast?
A: Scott (Xpl) and Jasem (Tainers) had mentioned it as an idea and it snowballed into an actual thing.

Q: Can I be on the podcast?
A: For now? No. All of us put in a lot of effort to work on the channel and part of the reason the podcast is fun to make/listen to is the POWER OF FRIENDSHIP which doesn't quite work when you have a herd of people that don't know each other quite so well. Many of you are super cool and would probably be stellar guests, but we aren't interested in having any extra peeps come on as of now, even if some super famous movie star asked (trust me, it's not personal).

Q: So... how can I get involved?
A: Thanks for asking, friend! Here's a few things you can do if you want to make me smile and be a part of the Squadcast:
    1) Follow and interact with the Squadcast Twitter! You can send in questions, @reply with a million memes, or just show some love with a favorite or a retweet every once in a while.
    2) Do all the typical things YouTubers ask you to. Like, comment, subscribe, share, it all helps spread the love and makes my heart happy when you do~
    3) Hang out on the forums, because without deez forums there's no way we'd be doing any of this. Stay active, y'all.

Thanks for checking out our meme-lovin' channel. Have a great day!

(Also, always free to tweet @SSquadcast if you ever have any questions about the Squadcast!)
