I personally like Lance. He has dragons.
I liked Cynthia. She has the second most powerful and diverse team in all of the series (second only to ORAS Wally) and her character and actions were both really awesome aspects of what made her great!
I like Cynthia too. In addition to having one of the more diverse teams, she seemed most interesting as a person outside the Pokémon League building (followed by Alder, and then Iris).
Diantha and Wallace, who the crap were they again? Not completely sure why they didn't make Steven the Champion of Emerald and, idk, uh, almost anyone besides Diantha the Champion of Kalos.
I'm pretty sure the fan favorite in this category is Cynthia, and as much as I like her design, I'm gonna have to say Steven is my favorite. His team is just more solid than everyone else's. I was breezing past ORAS and he actually killed me once. I was very surprised.

Personally, Alder is my favorite champion. I just kind of liked him as a character because he was so down to earth. He is really one of the bright spots in Black and White, which was actually my least favorite gen and the last gen I played. He also kind of looks like Jiraya from Naruto and he's my favorite character from Naruto haha. Not to mention, I absolutely LOVE his encounter theme!

Cynthia, easily. She plays an interesting role throughout the entire game, has a very diverse team and great personality and character design.

In all seriousness, mine would have to be Lance. He was the first champion that I actually had a challenge against and him being a Dragon Type champion just made it better.
It's kinda boring, but Cynthia. She was the best gameplay-wise and just a charismatic character in general with a great battle theme.
Gary is also great, since becoming champion right before you just fits him so well. After that, probably Steven. His team sucks but his actual character is cool.

I personally like Iris, Cynthia, and Alder a lot. They have cool designs, battle/encounter themes, and they just all have nice and chill personalities that I can get down with.
