X's Pokémon Red Randomizer Nuzlocke

Hi. I wanted to make a playlog thread, since it's been a while. I also didn't know where to put this, so I decided to just leave it here.

I'll be using Sanqui's randomizer for this playthrough, btw.

If you want to know what settings I used for the randomizer, here's a screenshot.

I'll also be playing by nuzlocke rules, because it's become a habit for me to nuzlocke everything at this point.

Nuzlocke Rules

1. If a Pokémon faints, it's considered "dead" and can't be used in battle anymore. I'll most likely just deposit it in a box in the PC dedicated to "dead" Pokémon.

2. I'm only allowed to catch the first Pokémon I encounter per area. Gift Pokémon also count as a "first encounter" for the area. Trading with ingame NPCs is allowed.

• Dupes clause - If my first encounter in an area is a Pokémon I have already captured before or a Pokémon in the same evolutionary line (exceptions being Pokémon that can evolve to multiple Pokémon), then I am allowed to not count it as my "first encounter" and I have every right to catch the next Pokémon I encounter. [OPTIONAL]

3. All Pokémon must be nicknamed (when possible, at least).

The actual challenge doesn't start until I have access to Poké Balls.

Gurdurr looks like something that would sweat a lot.


Oh my god, this thing has Sky Attack. I can also see Amnesia potentially being useful.


I decided to go get my Route 2 encounter.

And then I remembered about my Drain Punch TM.


I WAS GRINDING AND THIS STUNKY USED MEGAHORN. RIP IN KILL.

And with that, I have finished grinding.

I went back to the Poké Mart and sold both of my TMs.


I bought as many Poké Balls as I could.


Apparently, the bug catcher's overworld sprite is some woman.


...And the battle sprite is a fisherman.


This also happened. I was satisfied with my current moveset, so I decided to not learn Slam.
