Now pair it with a Defog user and some fast sweepers and you're set.

    Interesting analysis.

Is this Adamant or jolly? Also OU format?

When I see a hard hitter like this i always look to outspeed and one shot. But I do agree it's difficult to switch in on making it an excellent revenge killer like most choice band users. I feel like if it gets predicted via double switch or scouted with u-turn it's harder to fulfill it's purpose.

It might be better to also give it u-turn in that regard. I can't remember who exactly but I had one friend who was always vocal about reckless staraptor. Makes it a monster.

I usually spam high-powered attacks early-game when they use Hippo or Ferrothorn to set up rocks. Rotom-W also takes over 90% damage which is friggin immense, considering you don't want it to outlast you. This thing 2HKOes 99% of the metagame.

I see. What defog user would you go with to optimize your type coverage?

    sorry for late reply

I'd say Latios, as it packs a useful resistance to electric-type attacks (aka volt switch) and can help Staraptor break through Hippo, Suicune and other walls that Staraptor would need to sacrifice itself to beat.

Yeah, Staraptor is definitely an underrated Pokemon, for sure. I've had a ton of success using it in the past!
