I think the reason is because they actually were released in theaters, now they don't do that due to the massive fans it lost over the last few years. I mean seriously, only like 25-45% of Pokemon fans actually watch the anime.

I watched all the movies. My cousin buys the disks, so I get to watch them a lot.
Movie #1: I cried when Ash "died". Of course, that was 7 years ago.
Movie #2: Haven't watched it in a while. That girl liked Ash? Misty got jealous. (From what I remember) -One of the good movies.
Movie #3: Don't bother watching it. The Entei isn't even real.
Movie #4: The first movie I watched, and I cried when Celebi died.
Movie #5: My favorite. Even the song was awesome. What was the Latias x Ash shipping called?
Movie #6: So-so. Nothing to say.
Movie #7: Another nice one, very science-fic like. The ending song was nice. This side of paradise...
Movie #8: Great opening song, better than average storyline. I-also-cried-when-Lucario-went-bye-bye.
Movie #9: Pokemon Ranger right? I didn't watch the English version. Only the Jap. Confused about the storyline. I liked the BlueBeard villain. And Manaphy. Sooooo cute!
Movie #10: This movie was boring. Lickilicky!!!
Movie #11: Shaymin was funny. Storyline was okay.
Movie #12: Nice storyline, going to the past was a great idea, and this movie seemed for more older audience, from my point of view. Poor Arceus.
Movie #13: Watched the English Subbed version. Okay storyline, but I didn't like it.

Favorite movie? Heroes: Latios & Latias.

I recently saw Lucario and the Mystery of Mew as well and I have to say... it was really well done! I like particularly how they show a lot of what the pokemon world was like in the past. I would have to say that the movie about Deoxys was my least favourite... its story line was really lacking.....
