What generation did you start playing pokemon?

I started playing in Generation IV.

I somehow didn't realize that Pokemon was a video game series until then.

So, i played the 1st gen games, but i never owned a pokemon game til gold. In fact, pokemon gold wass my first video game i owned. i played yellow one time whn it first came out, but seeing as i was really little, i had no idea what to do. so i consider 2nd gen as when i started playing pokemon... even though i did play pokemon yellow version before gold and silver came out.

i did have a silver game at one point...but it didn't save

I started laying in Gen 1. This feels nostalgic thinking back, it made my childhood!

I started with Pokemon Silver. It has got to be my favorite generation so far. Well, correction... HGSS was pretty awesome too. Although, Silver has this nostalgia feeling that I love.

I remember going to the store and getting pokemon gold i played it all day and night and mom would not even know thought i was still (according to mom) a kid. i had to go to bed at the right time to get up and play pokemon again. then when pokemon heartgold(for ds) released i ran over to the store with a least 50 bucks got heartgold and did the same day and night. same for black except i didint feel the same as it did playing gold......sigh........ good times good times.........

I am a 1st Gen player. However over the years the games have gotten worse.

Definitely Yellow, so first generation. I remember not being able to get out of the starting room, or how to get PokeBalls for that matter. I was 6. Leave me alone.
