and we had different teams and movesets (although we all had Chandelure xD )

Well Idk about you guys. But my first time getting to the elite four on leafgreen, my pokemon were level 50ish. Waaaay too low for the elite four. I couldn't even get past agatha.
I never beat GSC...but in HG I had lvl 42s-45s xD. The only one at 45 was ho-oh. But I still ended up getting all the way through.
R/S/E I was overleveled somehow. I had everyone at level 60+.
I never played sinnoh yet sadly.
And in B/W I was just at 50 for everyone. So they weren't that bad.

Gold and Silver are always tricky since you are usually way under leveled for the Elite four. Its just a massive level jump from the final gym leader to the elite four, so if you aren't ready, you can be hurt big time if you don't have the correct pokemon or strategy.

BW was the hardest for me, but that's only because my team was severely underleveled (low 40s, late 30s, lolwut?). But I have to say, E4 in Platinum gave me a hell of a time even with my low to mid 50s team. I think it took me about six months to clear it (with at least half that time wasted on Harvest Moon IoH).

I think the reason that the B/W elite four was so easy for me was because I grinded a lot before the 2nd gym. Not because I needed to, just because I wanted to be higher level.
I had a team of 6 like this:
20, 20, 20, 22, 22, 24
The gym leader's highest was a 20 watchog, and my 24 was pignite GG
I like to keep my teams somewhat even. Most of the teams I have are leveled like that.

You aren't alone. I often have all my pokemon the same level. It's just easy that way, so that I dont have someone with massive level disadvantages than everyone else.

I thought the FR/LG E4 was the hardest. It was the only one I ever actually had to train up for
-
i think fire red leaf green have the hardest because ice/fighting/ghost/dragon i think are really hard because ice has only fighting/fire(she also has water types)rock/and steel. Fighting only has two weaknesses psychic and flying. Ghost resists fighting and normal type moves. Dragon is hard because they are the best in my opinion. Plus the rival at the end always gave me trouble with arcinine. Thats why i think that fire red leaf green is the hardest elite four
-
FG/LG/E4 was why harder. id would have lv.50-54 going aginst v.60 elite 4 and gary was hard as ever but lance was the hardest cause of dragonite
-
FR/LG E4 was hard, but I'd say Platinum's was equal.
I had to train my *** off for both of them.
