    Debate Forum Rules

This debate forum is here so users can have serious discussions on political, religious, and news-based topics. However, in order to prevent a debate going over board with un-necessary posts, I have compiled a list of rules that will be enforced to all members who participate in a debate. I, personally, will be modding this forum.

ALL THREADS WILL BE PUT INTO MODERATION BEFORE BEING SUCCESSFULLY POSTED IN THE DEBATE FORUM!

First and foremost, all PokeStation rules apply. They can be seen here.

    1. Personal insults of other members is not allowed. If you want others to respect your point of views then you should do the same.
    2. Swearing. I know this is a debate forum, but you should keep swearing to a minimum. Remember, this forum is for all ages.
    3. Stay on topic. If your post fails to stay on topic, it will be deleted and you will be infracted. If you would like to talk with another member in a friendly conversation, please use the Private Messaging system and/or visit our IRC chat.
    4. Informal debates can and will be moved to their respective forums. If you want to debate on why Pokemon is better than Digimon, feel free to do so. But be warned, some threads might be moved to other forums where they might be more suitable. In this case, the debate on "pokemon is better than digimon" will be moved to the Anime & Manga section.
    5. Double check this section if there isn't already a topic you're about to make. If a topic is three or four months old but you have something to say add to it, feel free to do so as the debate forum is for endless debating!
    6. Pornography will not be allowed in this section or anywhere else on PSN.
    7. Do not join in a debate unless you are at least somewhat knowledgeable about the subject. Also, do not post opinions or declarations without explaining your reasoning and (wherever possible) providing supporting evidence. Please try to keep an open mind when debating! And do not join a debate just for the sake of debating.
    8. No personal attacks on other members of the forum; only comments relating to the subject being debated will be tolerated. Do not attack your fellow debaters!
    9. Grammar and Legibility. We realize that English isn’t everyone’s first language, but please try your best. Make sure your posts are legible and your statements that make sense to the rest of us. Make sure others will be able to understand what you are trying to say. Write things out, don’t abbreviate.
    10. Do not assume that opposing posts are a personal attack on you. Tone is very difficult to interpret online especially in a debate setting.
    11. Report anything you find offensive. Do not be afraid. If you think something is insulting or derogative, report it. Because this is the debate forum, the rules are enforced much more strictly than on the rest of the forum.
    12. Be serious. The debate forum is for serious debates, not for making stupid little comments or jokes. These posts will be deleted and if someone continues to post like that, infractions will be handed out.
    13. Be creative and elaborate your posts. Don’t quote someone and make a one-two word post to say ‘I agree”. Don’t make one-two sentence posts either. This forum is meant to encourage discussion and debate and that’s not possible if someone just makes short little posts that have no depth to them. Posts like that will be deleted without warning. So be creative and express your opinion (within the rules, of course).
    14. Lastly, use common sense. This is not a place to vent; it is a place to rationally discuss topics of interest. If you feel yourself getting upset by a comment...take a step back and post later. Passion is great but don't let it get out of hand. Please behave accordingly!

More rules will be added in the near future.
