Using Aerodactyl in battle

Most Used Aero Set: Aerodactyl is really fast and learns stealth rocks meaning it serves a great job at being a suicide lead. The choice band set should not be really considered, since now, in DPPt you have a lot of physical sweepers that can perform better than him at physical sweeping and he just doesn’t hit as hard as he did in the advance generation. There is an annoying set which take’s advantage of aero’s high speed and ability pressure; that set runs substitude, protect, roost and earth quake and is meant to stall out your opponnet from their pp. You don’t have to worry about flyers being immune to your earth quake since you can just stall them out with the combination of substitude, protect and aerodactyl’s trait pressure.

Usual Counters: If you decide to use the choice band set (recomended that you don't) then hippowdon and bulky waters are a pain. A choice banded ice fang does 24% max damage to a 252 defense 252 hp eved hippowdon, which just shows why he shouldn’t be used with a band. Bulky waters are also only 3hkoed by cb earth quake while they can ohko aero with stab surfs. Now if you decide to use the suicide lead set (recomended that you do) then there isn’t much to counter you since your job is to set up sr and die and there is nothing stopping you from setting up stelath rocks if you're holding a focus sash. The pressure set is super annoying, even if you have one of its counters it can just stall out your pp, but a good way to own it is to just use 2 flyers and keep switching between the 2, and if it carries toxic over earth quake then all the better, since now you can switch between the many types that are immune to toxic damage or some pokemons that carry an ability which makes them immune to toxic damage.

Sets Used To Counter Its Counters: Nothing really, the pressure set actually proves annoying to take down, and was developed for pp stalling purposes, countering those pesky bulky waters whom counter aero, and basically for the surprise factor. Hence it’s somewhat rising in popularity once it was popularized by a certain person.

Aero is most used on: Offensive teams for the suicide set, same goes for the choice band set, and stall teams for the pp stall set. The pp stall set really likes stealth rocks and toxic spikes since it aids it in stalling, hence its presence on stall teams. The suicide set is used on an offensive team so you can set up a sweep for another pokemon by laying stealth rocks which will in terms further aid your 5 other sweepers on your offensive team at sweeping the opposition.
